Water as we all know, is our basic necessity to live. But do we actually know about right quantity of water required by our body. Most of us are completely unknown about their daily need of water. Some of us feel a lot more thirsty than others having almost similar life style. But why is it so? Before moving towards the right amount of water for average individual I would like you to know about the worth of water for our bodies.


Water is basically our body’s most important component, because it makes up about 60 percent of our body weight. Each and every system in our body depends on water. The moments of fluids takes place due to water. Water flushes toxins out of major organs of our body, it helps to carry nutrients to our cells, and basically it provides a moist environment that is necessary for our ear, nose and throat tissues because these are open areas from where dirt and other particles could enter directly to our body but this moisture captures foreign particles and save our organs from major damages.

We drink water daily but we lose it regularly from our bodies in the form of urination and perspiration. If we do not drink appropriate amount of water then this lack of water can lead to dehydration, which is a condition that occurs when we don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions that are necessary for our body. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired it can even give you headache and you may lose concentration. Therefor no mater how much busy you are but you should take time to drink water. But again here comes the question about how much amount of water is adequate for daily need. So lets give you the answer to this question.

We may drink water or take different beverages to keep our body hydrated. The research has declared thatĀ for men the average need is roughly about 13 cups (3 liters) of total beverages a day. The best amount for a women is about 9 cups (2.2 liters) of total beverages a day. But if you take extensive exercise or other high physical activities then this amount is increased. You should also be very careful if the day is more hot and you are sweating a lot then your body is losing more water in the form of perspiration as you would normally lose. Thus try to drink more water in hot days. A simple check could be the color of your urine, if it is too yellowish and dark then it is a major sign that you have been drinking lesser amount of water than required and that is harmful for you. Moreover you can drink as much water as you need but do not go for too excess as excess can damage your kidney. We all know excess of everything is bad.
